I bought a fox 360 jacket because the owner said that it was a motorcycle jacket. After purchasing it and going online, I see that it is a motocross jacket.

usually motorcycle gear is designed for road use, usually leathers and stuff like that because if u fall or crash ur falling at much higher speeds and on pavement. motocross stuff is lighter, more for athletics (much like football jerseys) and a little tougher depending on what ur looking at, designed for dirt impacts and more athleticism, because in motocross you need to move ur body, stay balanced, and be ready for impacts and hits road riding never sees, hope this helped :)

There is no such thing as motocross jackets.
There are motocross jerseys which are made of poly plastics. A motorcycle jersey is made from leather, elastics, nylon and other materials.
    Gloves are not very different.

I have never seen anyone racing in a motocross jacket, so I don’t know what it is they are calling one.
As kids my sons used to wear mudsuits on really bad muddy days but now older they only wear a light rain jacket if it happens to be about the worst weather you could ride in and it sure isn’t anything like you describe.

You will be find with the motorcycle jacket but you should invest in a decent pair of leather gloves. You can pickup cheap motorcycle gloves online at good prices. Good luck.
